| Airport | Göttingen is linked by InterCityExpress and InterRegio (ICE/IR) (www.bahn.de). Trains running every hour twice from and to Frankfurt International Airport, located about 250 km southwest from Göttingen. Transfer time is about 2.00/2.40 hours from Frankfurt Airport. Alternatively you may fly to Hannover International Airport, located 100 km north of Göttingen. The airport is connected by bus to Hannover central station, from where the fast train connections twice an hour take 0.30/1.00 h to Göttingen. European travellers might consider holiday airlines going to Hannover (e.g. www.tuifly.com or www.airberlin.com). You may also go to other German cities and book a cheap connection train together with the flight. |
